HSBC has named Kanas Chan as Head of Global Private Banking for North Asia and Hong Kong, effective April 14, 2025.
Chan, who joins from Deutsche Bank, will be responsible for driving growth and performance across the private bank's Hong Kong, Taiwan, and offshore mainland China markets.
The Asia segment of HSBC's Global Private Banking division announces its record profits as they end fiscal year 2024. According to the company, every quarter recorded double-digit year-on-year amp-up revenues, complemented by a hefty increase in invested assets from the previous year to new heights of US$199 billion-or 21% growth.
Chan, who will be situated in Hong Kong, will report directly to Lok Yim, the Regional Head of Global Private Banking for Asia Pacific, as well as Maggie Ng, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking for Hong Kong.
Chan joined Deutsche Bank in 2007, where she held various senior roles in their wealth management division, most recently serving as Head of North Asia for the private bank.
Earlier, she led the capital markets business in Wealth Management for Asia Pacific.
Before Deutsche Bank, Chan worked at Citi Private Bank and DBS Private Bank.
