Diageo, the company behind popular drinks like Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, and Guinness, has appointed Sir Dave Lewis as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will take over on January 1, 2026.

Sir Dave brings years of experience in running big consumer companies. He was CEO of Tesco from 2014 to 2020, where he successfully turned the business around. Before that, he spent almost 30 years at Unilever, leading marketing and growth efforts.

He currently chairs Haleon, a major player in consumer health products, but will step down from that role at the end of 2025.

He also serves on the board of PepsiCo and is involved with The Royal Foundation and the UK branch of the World Wildlife Fund. He was knighted in 2021 for his work in business and the food industry.
