Trump Claims Iran Regime Change After US-Israel War

US-Israel war took a dramatic turn as Donald Trump declared that the conflict had effectively led to Iran regime change, even while signaling a possible diplomatic deal with Tehran.

Speaking aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump pointed to the killing of several Iranian leaders during the month-long conflict as a major shift in power.

"I think we'll make a deal with them, pretty sure... but we've had regime change," Trump said. He added that the current leadership in Iran is unlike any before, calling it "a whole different group of people."

The shift comes after Mojtaba Khamenei, son of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei, stepped in as Iran’s new supreme leader following his father’s death in a February 28 airstrike at the start of the US-Israel war.

"They gave us, I think, out of a sign of respect, 20 boats of oil, big, big boats of oil going through the Hormuz Strait," he said, noting shipments would begin soon.
