Paramount is considering bringing Elon Musk into a group of investors that could help finance its proposed $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, according to a report by Semafor.
The company is looking for additional equity funding as it moves closer to completing the major Warner Bros. Discovery deal.
Musk is reportedly among several wealthy investors Paramount is considering for the group.
There has been no confirmation that Musk has agreed to invest, and the amount he could contribute, if any, has not been disclosed. The discussions are still at an early stage.

Musk Linked to Potential Paramount Investment
Musk's possible involvement is also notable because of his connection with Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. Ellison's son, David Ellison, is the CEO of Paramount Skydance. Larry Ellison has previously backed Musk financially, including through an investment linked to Musk's purchase of Twitter, now known as X.
Ellison is also involved in financing Paramount's planned Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition. The Ellison family and RedBird Capital Partners are among the backers of the deal, while Larry Ellison has personally guaranteed a large part of the equity financing.
Paramount is now looking for more investors as the transaction moves toward completion. If Musk joins the group, his investment would provide another source of funding for the deal. However, there is no information yet on whether he would receive any role in the management of the combined company.
The potential investment would also bring a well-known technology entrepreneur into one of the biggest media industry deals currently under discussion. For now, however, Musk's involvement remains unconfirmed.
Paramount Moves Ahead With Warner Bros. Discovery Deal
The proposed acquisition puts the value of Warner Bros. Discovery at around $110 billion, including debt. Paramount's financing plan includes about $47 billion in equity commitments, along with debt financing.
The deal has been subject to regulatory approval in the US and other countries. The Federal Communications Commission recently approved arrangements allowing foreign investors to take significant stakes in the combined company, although restrictions would apply to voting rights and involvement in management and content decisions.
Paramount has said the transaction has received regulatory approval in 69 jurisdictions. Legal challenges remain among the issues the company needs to address before the deal can close.
The acquisition would combine Paramount's film, television and streaming businesses with Warner Bros. Discovery's major assets, including Warner Bros., HBO and CNN. The combined company would have a large portfolio of entertainment and media brands across film, television and streaming.
For Musk, an investment in Paramount would add a traditional entertainment industry business to a portfolio that already includes companies and interests spanning electric vehicles, space, artificial intelligence and social media.
There is still no confirmation that Musk will invest in the transaction. Paramount and the potential investors have yet to announce any final agreement.
