Akasa Air Names Naarayan T V as New Chief Marketing Officer

Akasa Air, one of India’s fastest-growing airlines, has appointed Naarayan T V as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), starting August 29, 2025. Naarayan will lead the airline’s marketing efforts, corporate communications, sustainability initiatives, customer experience, eCommerce, loyalty programs, and partnerships. He’ll also join the airline’s Executive Committee.
Naarayan brings over 20 years of experience in marketing, having worked in eCommerce, fintech, banking, and consumer brands. Before joining Akasa, he served as CMO at IDFC First Bank until August 22, 2025, where he led successful brand campaigns, including major sponsorships and product launches.
He previously held key roles at PayPal, where he launched India’s first integrated brand campaign and significantly grew merchant partnerships.

Naarayan also worked with Kotak Securities, TimesOfMoney, and Motilal Oswal Securities. His work has earned him recognition, including the DMA Asia Trail Blazer Award in 2023 and a spot on BW’s Top Marketers list in 2024.
Vinay Dube, Akasa Air’s Founder and CEO, praised Naarayan’s appointment, saying, “As we scale, marketing and customer experience are pivotal to strengthening our brand and deepening customer trust. This move comes as Akasa Air aims to rank among the world’s top 30 airlines by 2030. With a current fleet of 30 Boeing 737 MAX planes and 196 more on order, the airline serves 24 domestic and six international destinations. Naarayan’s leadership is expected to strengthen Akasa’s brand as it expands in the competitive aviation market.
