King Charles Booed Over Prince Andrew-Epstein Scandal at Visit

By Global Leaders Insights Team | Oct 28, 2025

King Charles faced an angry outburst on Monday, October 27, 2025, when a man in the crowd shouted questions about his brother Prince Andrew’s links to Jeffrey Epstein.

The confrontation happened outside Lichfield Cathedral in Staffordshire, during what was supposed to be a friendly royal walkabout.

Charles, 76, had just finished a visit focused on community projects. As he shook hands with locals, the heckler pushed forward and yelled, “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?” He kept going: “Did you tell the police to cover for Andrew? Should MPs get to debate the royals in Parliament?”

The king stayed calm, gave a quick smile, and moved on to greet others. Security quietly led the man away. But phone videos of the moment spread fast online, bringing fresh attention to the royal family’s troubles.

The protest comes at a tough time. Earlier this month, Prince Andrew, 65, gave up his Duke of York title. He has always denied any wrongdoing in the Epstein scandal. Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in jail in 2019. One of his accusers, Virginia Giuffre, claimed Andrew abused her when she was a teenager. Andrew settled a lawsuit with her in 2022 for an undisclosed amount. Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025 at age 41; her memoir was published this month.

Police are now looking into old reports that Andrew asked a protection officer to dig up dirt on Giuffre back in 2011. The heckler later told reporters, “People deserve answers. This isn’t just old news—it hurts the monarchy.”

Inside the cathedral, Charles had unveiled a new community table made from ancient oak and met with local groups about nature and social projects. But outside, the Epstein shadow followed him.

Buckingham Palace has not commented. Some experts say the incident may force the royals to talk more openly about family scandals. For now, one loud voice in a small English city has reminded everyone that the past isn’t buried yet.
