10 Recipients Honored with Princess Seetah Award for Excellence in Social Work

The Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work has revealed the 10 recipients for the 12th edition of the award in 2024.
Launched in September 2024, the awards aim to promote excellence in social work both within the Kingdom and globally.

The announcement was made in a press release that began with remarks by Prince Saud bin Fahd, Member of the Board of Trustees and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee.

In his speech, Prince Saud emphasized that the event was a significant occasion to honor the award winners. He further stated that the awards reflect "Saudis' love and loyalty to the Kingdom through humanitarian, social, and national initiatives."

In the same context, Dr. Fahd Al-Maghlouth, Secretary-General of the Award, highlighted that a total of 722 candidates applied for the 12th edition. After a comprehensive screening process and field visits to assess each candidate, the judging committee chose 10 winners.

"Excellence in National Achievement" Category

The award was jointly presented to two ministries, as follows:

  • The Ministry of Interior – General Directorate of Prisons, for its Furijat e-service initiative
  • The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, for its Cities Development Initiative

Excellence in Islamic Endowments” Category

The Al-Sarawat Endowment received the award for its significant contributions to the Madak Schools Initiative.

“Excellence in Social Work Programs” Category

In the Excellence in Social Work Programs Category, two organizations were awarded as follows:

  • Tarmeem Association, for its Samaya Volunteer Housing Center initiative
  • The Ghoroos Charitable Foundation, for its innovative initiative to establish the Namal Company for Social Investment

“Excellence for Social Work Pioneers” Category

Notably, Saleh Hamza Al-Sayrafi was awarded in the Excellence for Social Work Pioneers category, in recognition of the outstanding success of his Social Investment Initiative.

“Excellence in Social Responsibility” Category

The fifth category featured two winners:

  • The National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO), for its "Bright Efforts for Social Work" initiative
  • NEOM Company, for its social responsibility initiatives and programs

“Environmental Sustainability” Category

The award was equally shared by two entities:

  • The Ministry of Health branch in Najran region, for its social investment initiatives
  • The National Center for Wildlife Development, for its "Journey of the Decade" initiative to explore the Red Sea

Princess Seetah bint Abdukaziz Award

Founded in 2012, the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Foundation for Excellence in Social Work promotes community development initiatives.

The awards are named in honor of Princess Seetah, widely recognized for her charitable endeavors and social efforts to improve the lives of others.
