Sabrina Habib: Equity in Education, Empowerment for Generations

By Sabrina Habib

Kidogo comes from the proverb ‘chanzo cha makubwa ni kidogo,’ which means all great things start small, and if we want to have a thriving community, a thriving economy, and a thriving country, then we need to start by investing in the youngest generation, especially those in the informal settlements

Sabirna Habib is creating a humanitarian revolution by running a nonprofit organization that has been providing early childhood education for low-income families. Being a co-founder of Kidogo, Sabrina is embedding equity and sustainability into foundational education systems.

Being born in Kenya, Habib had the vision of building a great nation by igniting the endless potential in every child. This made her create the revolution, which created opportunity and sustainable change for children among the marginalized communities.

While the whole world ignored the silent fighters of society, she recognized their strength and created a model of care that combined equity and community empowerment. Her vision was clear from the beginning: to make even the youngest in the slums have an equal chance in life, with childcare not being an obstacle to a mother’s aspiration.

Sabrina focuses on building scalable and localized solutions to build the foundation for the new world standard in early learning; this reflects her belief in quality education not being an entitlement but a birthright.
