US President Donald Trump faced more criticism because he refused to drop his unpopular Canada 51st state proposal.
Trump reaffirmed to Canadian PM Mark Carney his plan to seize Canada which he originally outlined previously. The journalist asked Trump about statehood implications to which the 47th President declared "a massive tax cut for Canadians" alongside "free military" support. In his perspective Canada and the United States are scheduled to begin a "wonderful marriage" together.
Trump refused to discuss the issue of turning Canada into the 51st state of the US, saying that “We're not going to be discussing that, unless somebody wants to discuss that...it really would be a wonderful marriage.”
Canadian PM Carney rejected Trump's idea, asserting: “There are some places that are never for sale...it's not for sale. It won't be for sale, ever.”
However, Trump remains persisted and said: “Never say never,” prompting Carney to utter “never, never, never.”
As part of his campaign Carney announced that he had interacted with Canada's “owners” which led him to state definitively that “it won't be for sale ever.” Carney expressed willingness to work together with America throughout their Oval Office discussion. He analyzed the partnership's future potential and explained the mutual opportunities for Canadian and US cooperation. According to Trump, Carney's electoral triumph was "very big" while also conferring "very talented" leadership characteristics to indicate their fundamental similarities beyond their differences.
