By Global Leaders Insights Team | Feb 10, 2026

A newly released set of documents linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein files has reignited public attention after a photograph showing Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg at a 2015 dinner surfaced online.

The image, part of a fresh tranche of Epstein documents, has gone viral across social media platforms, prompting renewed scrutiny of Silicon Valley elite connections.

The photograph reportedly dates back to August 2015 and shows Musk and Zuckerberg seated at a long dinner table with other prominent technology figures. According to emails included in the document release, Epstein referred to the gathering as a “wild” dinner.

The event is believed to have taken place in Palo Alto, California, several years after Epstein’s sex offender conviction in 2008. The dinner was reportedly organised by Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, to honour MIT neuroscientist Ed Boyden. Other names referenced in the correspondence include Peter Thiel, though it remains unclear who attended the event in person and what role Epstein played beyond documenting it. In some emails, Epstein appears to describe the gathering and share images from the evening, raising questions about Epstein associations with influential figures.

Following the circulation of the photo, representatives for Zuckerberg stated that he encountered Epstein briefly at the dinner and had no further relationship with him. Musk has also previously commented on his limited interaction with Epstein, stating that he did not socialise with him beyond a single event and rejected invitations to visit Epstein’s private island. Musk has publicly condemned Epstein’s crimes amid growing Elon Musk controversy discussions online.\

The release of these files does not allege criminal wrongdoing by those pictured or mentioned. However, the resurfacing of Epstein’s communications has renewed debate about why influential figures continued to appear in his social orbit after his conviction.
