Tech Innovator Debjani Ghosh to Address the AI Era and India's Global Leadership

Digital economy and innovation leader Debjani Ghosh, a Distinguished Fellow at NITI Aayog, will be among the prominent speakers at the Rising Bharat Summit 2025, scheduled for April 8 and 9 in New Delhi. The summit, which will feature Prime Minister Narendra Modi, gathers visionary leaders to shape India’s path toward global leadership.

With over three decades of experience, Debjani Ghosh brings her expertise in ‘technology for development’ to the summit. She is also the chief architect of the NITI Frontier Tech Hub, India’s leading think tank focused on advancing the country’s preparedness in frontier technologies for economic and social progress.

During her leadership term from 2018 to 2024 Ghosh became the first female president of Nasscom to create a flourishing deep-tech ecosystem in India. Her previous managerial positions included Intel's South Asia leadership and she became its first female operator while advancing to Cisco and Nasscom rules then at NITI Aayog.

Her article outlines that the AI Plus Era surpasses mere algorithmic capabilities because it mandates an absolute transformation of existing methods for discovery and production as well as innovation practices. An industrial revolution now moves forward thanks to data processing and algorithms.

The development of India from its position as a low-cost outsourcing center has been documented through her global leadership slogans "Think Digital, Think India" and "Inevitable India."

Apart from her board roles at the RBI Innovation Hub she sits on the panels of Karmayogi Bharat and RBI Innovation Hub.

The President of India selected her as one of the recipients under the 'First Ladies’ program to recognize outstanding women in various fields during January 2018. The year 2020 brought Tech Leader of the Year recognition from Vogue and Business Today selected her among the most influential women in technology in India.

At the Rising Bharat Summit 2025 — the fifth edition of the CNN-News18 flagship leadership conclave — Prime Minister Modi, along with several union ministers, policymakers, CEOs, unicorn founders, and entrepreneurs, will take the stage. The event will also feature renowned economists, sustainability experts, technologists, and other influential figures.
