SuperFreeze, a leading operator, developer, and owner of advanced cold storage facilities in Asia, is excited to announce Troy Shortell as Co-CEO. Having served as Managing Director for Operations at SuperFreeze for the past three years, Troy will now oversee all current and future facilities across the region, leveraging his extensive expertise to enhance the company’s operational performance and growth strategy.
With more than 30 years of experience in the cold storage and logistics sector, Troy has held leadership positions at global companies such as DHL, CEVA, and Havi Logistics. He also previously led the Supply Chain Advisory practice in Asia at CBRE. His appointment as Co-CEO is a key milestone for SuperFreeze, reinforcing its commitment to expanding its presence and driving innovation and sustainability in cold chain solutions.
A major achievement during Troy's tenure at SuperFreeze has been his key role in launching the company’s first facility outside of South Korea, located in Tuas, Singapore. SF Tuas is a state-of-the-art automated freezer that boasts an impressive 93% capacity fill rate, flawless inventory accuracy, and high throughput. Its industry-leading storage density was achieved through the use of advanced fluid dynamics analysis during the design phase. This facility highlights SuperFreeze’s capability to address the increasing demand for flexible, ultra-cold, and frozen storage solutions customized to customer supply chains.
Daniel Yun, Chairman of SuperFreeze, commented, “We are delighted to elevate Troy to the role of Co-CEO. Operations are the backbone of our business, and Troy’s proven track record and deep industry knowledge position him perfectly to lead SuperFreeze to new heights. His vision and expertise will ensure we maintain the highest operational standards while driving growth across Asia.”
Troy expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I am honored to take on this leadership position at SuperFreeze. I look forward to building on our success in Korea and Singapore while expanding into other key Asian markets. By harnessing SuperFreeze’s unique strengths in scale, automation, and decarbonization, we will continue to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions that set the standard for the cold storage industry.”
Under Troy’s leadership, SuperFreeze is set to fast-track its mission of delivering innovative, sustainable cold chain infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of customers, with an emphasis on efficiency, flexibility, and environmental responsibility.
