He takes over from Paul Marriott, who is returning to Europe after holding the role for five years.

With SAP's market units from Australia and New Zealand, Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia, Davies will have overall responsibility for a team of more than 31,000 employees distributed over 78 offices. The region has seen key SAP clients like NEC Corporation, Coles Group, Wipro, Fujitsu Limited, Shiseido, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Corporation, Himalaya, Cochlear, and Japan Airlines.

With more than 25 years of experience in IT solutions across the Asia Pacific region, Davies has held leadership roles in Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle. Recently, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan at Splunk for more than three years. He is also a board member with several pre-IPO technology companies and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

He commended Davies for strong leadership, characterized by the ability to drive growth in innovation-driven markets and to build high-performing teams. He asserted that SAP will continue to experience growth through cloud and AI innovations, and Davison is the right leader to keep this momentum going, which was started by Marriott.

Davies expressed excitement to step into the responsibilities of the position with rising demands for digital transformation in the region. Cloud technology along with the use of business data are additional major contributions to the growth of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and sustainability.

SAP appointing Davies is a strong sign of its commitment to continue driving digital transformation and advancing innovation in the rapidly changing Asia Pacific business environment.
