Saudi Interior Minister and Jordan’s King Discuss Security Cooperation in Amman

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud met with King Abdullah II of Jordan in Amman, following directives from Saudi leadership. 
  • The meeting, attended by Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein and several high-ranking officials, highlighted the robust security cooperation between the two nations. 
  • The Saudi Minister also met with his Jordanian counterpart, Mazen Abdullah Hilal Al-Faraya, to explore further cooperation on mutual security issues.

 

On Wednesday, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, the Saudi Minister of Interior, met with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan at the Royal Palace in Amman after directives from Saudi Arabia's leadership concerning the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The minister extended greetings from the king  and wished for the king's good health and wellbeing and continued prosperity and progress for the government and people of Jordan.

This meeting, which was at the Basman Palace, saw a lot of discussion about the good relations that exist at present between Saudi Arabia and Jordan and gives a special focus on collaboration between the two in security grounds.

The meeting was attended by crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah of Jordan, Interior Minister Mazen Abdullah Hilal Al-Farayih and the Director of the King's Office, Alaa Batayneh; Assistant Minister for Interior of Saudi Arabia Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Falih; and Ambassador Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, among others. Also on Wednesday, the Saudi Minister of Interior had a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart Mazen Abdullah Hilal Al-Faraya as part of the official visit to Jordan, where both discussed ways to enhance cooperation in matters of mutual importance, particularly in the vicinity of security.

The non-stop efforts of security agencies in both countries to guard the borders and fight drug trafficking were complemented by Prince Abdulaziz and include the cordiality that prevails between Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
