Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the upcoming WAVES (World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit) will enhance India's global recognition for its creative talent.

Speaking at the Utkarsh Odisha- Make in Odisha Conclave in Bhubaneswar, the PM emphasized that events like WAVES not only drive substantial revenue but also shape perceptions and contribute to economic growth.

Modi highlighted the significant potential of such initiatives to tap into India's vast creative talent pool, positioning the country as a global leader in the media and entertainment industry.

WAVES 2025 will seamlessly blend India’s timeless traditions with modern creativity, showcasing a unique fusion of the nation's rich cultural heritage and contemporary innovation.

The event will offer platforms for a diverse range of creators, from classical and semi-classical musicians to EDM artists, as well as advertising professionals, designers, and creators working with Khadi.

This vibrant fusion of tradition and modernity is reflected in initiatives such as Wah Ustad, which honors India’s traditional musical heritage; Resonate: The EDM Challenge, which celebrates global music trends; and Make The World Wear Khadi, aimed at redefining India’s iconic fabric as a symbol of sustainable fashion worldwide. These three challenges, along with WAVES Bazaar and WAVES Awards, were launched on Monday by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who encouraged creators to help position India as the global hub for content creation.

Collectively, these initiatives offer content creators unique opportunities to highlight their talent, merge tradition with innovation, and gain recognition, while contributing to India’s cultural and creative revival. These challenges are part of a broader lineup of 31 Create in India Challenges, providing a platform for creators across various genres to display their skills.
