Piyush Goyal Holds Talks with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy in London

Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, met with David Lammy, Secretary of State for the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office of the United Kingdom, at a joint India-UK business reception held at Lancaster House.

Goyal is spending two days in the UK to talk about ways to improve economic cooperation.

Alongside UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds, he also discussed the promising future of the India-UK partnership at the event on Tuesday.

In a post on X, Goyal stated, "I am extremely grateful for the warm and gracious hospitality extended by our UK partners. Looking forward to seeing tangible results of our shared vision."

Goyal met with business executives on the first day of his visit to talk about possible new prospects. He met with Revolut App Chairperson Martin Gilbert to talk about the fintech ecosystem's enormous growth potential in India.

They also talked about how crucial it is to work with international players in order to spur innovation and advance the expansion of the industry.

Goyal also had a meeting with the De Beers Group CEO, Al Cook, and his staff. Their conversations focused on sustainable practices, growth prospects for the diamond industry, India's industry opportunities, and global trends in the gem and jewelry sector.

Goyal had a dinner meeting with the Indian business delegation later that day. The talks examined prospects for greater cooperation with the UK for mutual gain and concentrated on the robust expansion of Indian industries.

In another post, the minister stated, "I interacted with members of the Indian business delegation over dinner." We discussed our industry's strong growth and potential for greater collaboration with the UK for mutual prosperity.
