Saudi Arabia's Palestinian envoy announced his appointment after a meeting with the President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, in Ramallah: Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi and orchestrated it to present the Palestinian leader with the highest award-the Star of Al-Quds.

He also took the occasion to convey greetings to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman while highlighting the continuous commitment of Saudi Arabia to the Palestinian people and their common cause.

Abbas agreed with his counterpart on the importance of building more connections between the two nations.

He was first selected to the post in August 2018. The first non-resident Saudi Ambassador to Palestine and Consul-General in Jerusalem had been appointed earlier only in 1948.
Consequently, the Saudi Ambassador went to Ramallah to present his credentials to President Abbas in September 2024.
