Nvidia & LG Join Hands to Develop Humanoid Robots, AI Hubs

Nvidia LG partnership has taken a major step forward as Nvidia joined hands with South Korea’s LG Group to develop humanoid robots and advanced AI data centres, marking a significant move in the chipmaker’s expansion into robotics and AI-driven infrastructure.

The announcement came after Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, met LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo in Seoul on Monday. The collaboration will focus on building humanoid robots and developing next-generation data centres designed to meet rising computing demands.

Speaking about the partnership, Huang said Nvidia and LG are working together on robotics technologies, including mechanical systems and intelligent software that could help AI-powered robots operate in industrial and commercial environments. He described robotics as one of the next major growth sectors and said South Korea has strong potential to become a global leader in the field.

According to Huang, the South Korea robotics industry is well-positioned for growth due to the country’s strong manufacturing ecosystem and expertise in electronics and semiconductors. These strengths could help accelerate innovation in automation and robotics technologies.

The collaboration reflects Nvidia robotics expansion as the company looks to move beyond its dominance in AI chips. Nvidia has increasingly partnered with robotics firms worldwide to create systems powered by Artificial Intelligence infrastructure that can perform real-world tasks more efficiently.

Humanoid robots are expected to play a growing role in industries such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and customer service. Businesses are exploring how intelligent machines can improve productivity and address labour shortages.

LG’s expertise in electronics, smart technologies, and industrial systems is expected to complement Nvidia AI technology in developing smarter robotic solutions. Industry reports have also suggested that LG may adopt thousands of Nvidia GPUs, strengthening GPU for AI training capabilities to support robotics research and large-scale AI development.

During his visit to South Korea, Huang also hinted at more collaborations with Korean companies in the near future, underlining Nvidia’s growing interest in the country’s expanding technology ecosystem.

Focus on Advanced AI Data Centres

Apart from robotics, Nvidia and LG are also working together to build advanced AI data centres capable of handling increasingly complex workloads. As AI adoption continues to rise globally, demand for stronger computing infrastructure has grown rapidly.

Huang said the companies are jointly exploring next-generation data centres that can support large-scale AI training and operations more efficiently, helping businesses manage rising computational demands.

The partnership comes at a time when global technology companies are investing heavily in AI and automation to remain competitive. With demand for generative AI and robotics increasing, collaborations like this are expected to shape the future of intelligent computing and industrial transformation.
