Maruti Suzuki Approves Hisashi Takeuchi's Reappointment as MD & CEO

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd said in a statement that the Board approved the reappointment of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hisashi Takeuchi for additional three years starting April 1, 2025, on Wednesday.

A managerial filing by the firm states that the board of directors of Maruti Suzuki India at its meeting held on January 29, 2025, had agreed to the reappointment of Takeuchi as managing director and CEO for a further period of three years till March 31, 2028.

He is appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer effective from April 1, 2022. He takes over from Kenichi Ayukawa whose term ended on March 31, 2022.

He has been on the Board of Maruti Suzuki since July 2019 and was Joint Managing Director (Commercial) from April 2021 to the time of his elevation.

He joined Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) in 1986 and has accumulated rich experience in international operations at SMC and general overseas markets.
