Kiran Desai Promoted to Vice President and General Counsel at Netflix India

For a new achievement, Desai Kiran updated that he is appointed as Vice President- India General Counsel for Netflix on his LinkedIn page.

Kiran Desai was General Counsel and Senior Director of Business and Legal Affairs for Netflix India and was hands-on with various initiatives like "Voicebox," which was a training program envisaged with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to train voiceover artists in different Indian languages. 

Desai graduated with an LL.B. from Government Law College in Mumbai and an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. He is also a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales. 

Prior to proceeding to Netflix, Kiran Desai was Managing Partner of Desai & Partners, a firm located in Mumbai, India, specializing in media and entertainment law, and was involved in the practice for a lot of years. He has had opportunities to advise a variety of clients, ranging from film stars, to sports personalities, to production houses. His knowledge and practice of IP, licensing, compliance, and commercial negotiations with regard to the digital space were fundamental in putting the legal regime for digital content in India.
