Artificial intelligence is becoming a key part of business operations across industries, helping organizations improve efficiency, automate processes and drive innovation.

At the same time, its rapid adoption has raised concerns about AI security, cybersecurity, infrastructure safety and the responsible use of the technology.

To address these challenges, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is leading a new cross-industry initiative that brings together companies from critical sectors to strengthen AI security and risk management.

The expanded Alliance for Critical Infrastructure (ACI) aims to promote closer collaboration between businesses and government agencies to protect critical infrastructure from emerging AI-related threats.

Companies Join Hands to Strengthen AI Security

Dimon has invited the CEOs of more than 40 companies from industries including banking, energy, telecommunications, transportation and water utilities to join the initiative. The goal is to create a platform where organizations can work together to understand the risks associated with artificial intelligence and develop practical ways to address them.

The Alliance for Critical Infrastructure, which was originally co-founded by JPMorgan, is now expanding its focus to include AI. Member companies will share information, exchange best practices and improve coordination to help identify vulnerabilities before they turn into major cybersecurity risks.

Rather than replacing existing government efforts, the alliance is designed to support them by encouraging stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors. According to Reuters, the expanded group is expected to become fully operational later this year, with founding members including Mastercard and Berkshire Hathaway Energy, reinforcing the need for stronger AI governance.

Focus on Protecting Critical Infrastructure

The initiative comes at a time when governments and businesses are becoming more aware of the risks that AI could pose to critical infrastructure. As artificial intelligence is increasingly used in financial systems, power networks and public services, experts believe stronger safeguards are needed to improve infrastructure resilience against cyber threats and system failures.

One of the alliance's main priorities is improving information sharing among member organizations. By exchanging intelligence on emerging threats and security practices, companies can respond more quickly to potential attacks and strengthen their cyber resilience.

Dimon has downplayed his personal role in the initiative, describing himself as part of the "support cast" and stressing that the success of the alliance depends on collective action. He believes businesses, governments and technology leaders all have a role to play in ensuring responsible AI is developed and used safely.

The growing interest in AI governance reflects a broader shift in how companies view the technology. While AI offers significant opportunities to improve productivity and innovation, it also introduces new risks that require careful planning and oversight. Many organizations are now focusing on building secure and trustworthy AI risk management strategies.
