On the sidelines of the Indian Ocean Conference in Muscat, Oman, on Sunday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has been having discussions with other foreign ministers from Mauritius, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. He, with his Mauritian counterpart, Foreign Minister Dhananjay Ritish Ramful, shared the desire to foster closer relations between the two countries. It was Jaishankar's first meeting with Ramful.
On X, Jaishankar wrote: "Had a warm first meeting with FM @RitishRamful of Mauritius. Reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening the special bonds of friendship." Jaishankar has also met Abdulla Khaleel, Foreign Minister of the Maldives, for discussions on various aspects of cooperation between India and the Maldives, including India-Maldives cooperation. On X, Jaishankar said, "Great to catch up with FM @abkhaleel of Maldives.
Exchanged views on the many dimensions of our cooperation."Jaishankar reviewed with his Sri Lankan counterpart Vijitha Herath a wide range of cooperation between the two countries and reiterated India's commitment to supporting Sri Lanka in its economic recovery and growth.
Jaishankar made the announcement on X: "Had a productive interaction with FM @HMVijithaHerath on the sidelines of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference. Reviewed our wide-ranging cooperation and reaffirmed India's commitment to Sri Lanka's economic recovery and progress."S. Both ministers reviewed bilateral cooperation and expressed a desire to strengthen ties further.
Jaishankar shared on X: "Glad to meet with FM @Arzuranadeuba of Nepal today. Had a productive review of our bilateral cooperation and look forward to enhancing our ties."
He also met with Bhutanese FM D.N. Dhungyel to advance bilateral and regional cooperation.
In a post on X, Jaishankar remarked: "It was a pleasure speaking to @FMBhutan D. N. Dhungyel in Muscat today. Our talks centered on enhancement of bilateral and regional cooperation with particular emphasis upon the vibrancy of our unique and longstanding partnership." S. Jaishankar held discussions with his Nepalese counterpart, Arzu Rana Deuba, shortly before the Indian Ocean Conference. The two ministers reviewed their respective countries' bilateral relations and wanted to ensure that their partnership continues to flourish. Jaishankar put out on X his reflections of the meeting: "Great to meet FM @Arzuranadeuba of Nepal today. Had a constructive review of our bilateral cooperation and look forward to deepening our ties." Jaishankar emphasized enhancing bilateral and regional cooperation with D. N. Dhungyel, the Foreign Minister from Bhutan.
