Many see the newest AI models as direct competition to Google's own AI offerings.

Despite this, Pichai wrote a message to the Meta team, congratulating them on their latest launch. "It's never a dull day in the AI world! Congratulations to the Llama 4 team, and onward!" he wrote.

hmad Al-Dale, Meta's head of generative AI, responded to Pichai's post, saying, "Thanks, Sundar! We don't like dull days here, thank you!

hile introducing the new Llama 4 model, Meta CEO shared the company's vision for AI. "Our goal is to create the world's leading artificial intelligence, open source it, and make it universally accessible so that everyone can benefit. And I've been saying for a while that I believe open source AI will become the dominant model, and with llama 4, this is beginning to happen," he said in a video message.

Meta's most recent suite of AI models will now power the company's AI assistant on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. The third available model, Behemoth, is currently undergoing training.

Earlier, Pichai congratulated Elon Musk on the launch of the Grok-3 AI model."Congratulations on your progress!" "Look forward to trying it out," he wrote in response to Musk's post. The X's owner also claimed that Grok 3 outperformed several leading AI models, including Google's Gemini 2 Pro.
