According to the automaker, Ian Hucker has been named the new head of General Motors Co.'s fleet division in North America, known as GM Envolve.
The 55-year-old Hucker was previously an executive with Lynk & Co., the luxury brand owned by the Chinese company Geely Group, and most recently served as chief commercial officer for Hyundai Capital Europe. Additionally, he has held senior sales positions at GM in the past.
Sandor Piszar, who assumed the role in mid-2023, was the previous leader of GM Envolve in the area. He retired at the beginning of the year.
In a statement, GM's vice president of global commercial growth strategies and operations, Duncan Aldred, said that Hucker's "expertise in strategy development and transformation will help GM Envolve continue to grow and deliver value to our customers through a winning product portfolio, advanced telematics, and digital fleet management tools."
The company established the Envolve business unit in the spring of 2023, which encompasses the company's fleet of automobiles as well as additional technologies and services that work in tandem with them. Its competitors include Ford Pro and Stellantis Pro One, two comparable commercial divisions established by other automakers in recent years.
