The G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is set to tackle the war in Ukraine, global security, maritime routes, and governance reforms as key topics ahead of the June 13–15 G7 Leaders’ Summit in Evian, officials said today.
France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs outlined the agenda, noting that the meeting follows a preparatory informal session during the UN General Assembly. Spokesperson Pascal Confavreux said the discussions aim for concrete results that will shape outcomes for the leaders’ summit.
A major focus will be Ukraine. Ministers will discuss reconstruction, regional security, and long‑term recovery. The briefing pointed to at least three impactful results from the reconstruction session, with emphasis on nuclear safety, humanitarian demining, and reconstruction funding. Discussions will highlight the role of global financial institutions such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in mobilizing investment for Ukraine’s recovery.
- G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will prioritize Ukraine reconstruction, regional security, and actionable outcomes ahead of the Evian summit.
- Discussions will cover maritime security, global supply chains, and the exercise of freedom of navigation.
- Ministers aim to advance global governance reforms and engage non-G7 partners, including South Korea, India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and Ukraine.
The agenda goes beyond immediate crises. Ministers will address maritime security and global supply chain threats, including narco‑trafficking and critical mineral flows. A session on maritime routes and the exercise of freedom of navigation is also planned.
On the wider strategic front, the meeting aims to drive global governance reforms. Officials stressed the need for innovative multilateral approaches to confront cross‑border threats that challenge national sovereignties.

French officials underscored the importance of open, frank dialogue and strong coordination, saying the meeting should deliver actionable outcomes that set the tone for the Evian Leaders’ Summit in June.
