  • Deepinder Goyal invites engineers to join LAT Aerospace's Bengaluru propulsion research team developing indigenous gas turbine engines.
  • LAT Aerospace is hiring propulsion engineers to build lightweight, efficient, India-made engines for STOL aircraft initiative.

Deepinder Goyal, cofounder of LAT Aerospace, has invited engineers to apply for a specialized propulsion research team at the startup's Bangalore facility, which will build gas turbine engines entirely in India.

In order to develop affordable short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft with up to 24 seats and an emphasis on regional air connectivity, Goyal founded the company with former Zomato COO Surobhi Das.

The team's objective is to create lightweight, effective, and flight-ready gas turbine engines from the ground up, according to a post by Goyal on X. In the post, he made it clear that this startup is not affiliated with Eternal.

According to the post, the new research center will have specialized labs for materials, combustion, turbomachinery, and thermal systems, enabling engineers to work through practical development, testing, and supplier collaboration.

Additionally, engineers will serve as the team's leaders. No lingering for "business" people's approval. "Don't chase meetings or slides," he wrote in his post.

Professionals with experience in turbines, rotors, control systems, or related fields are being sought by the startup to join the team.

Das is in charge of LAT Aerospace's operations, while Goyal is a non-executive cofounder who has invested $20 million in the business.
