Congress Nominates Priyanka Gandhi to Join JPC on One Nation, One Election Bill

According to PTI, the Congress has nominated Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Manish Tewari, Sukhdeo Bhagat, and Randeep Surjewala to the joint parliamentary committee (JPC) responsible for reviewing the 'one nation, one election' Constitution Amendment Bill.

The bill, introduced in Parliament yesterday, suggests conducting synchronized elections nationwide. The government announced that the legislation would be sent to a JPC for detailed examination and wider consultations.

For the JPC to be formed, the Lok Sabha must first pass a resolution recommending the draft laws be sent to the committee. Other political parties are also finalizing their nominations for the proposed panel.
