Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar Named in TIME’s 2025 List of 100 AI Leaders

Cognizant announced today that CEO Ravi Kumar S has been named to the 2025 TIME 100 AI list. This prestigious award recognizes Kumar's visionary leadership and contributions to the field of enterprise AI.

The TIME 100 AI list recognizes the most influential leaders, thinkers, scientists, and policymakers from a variety of fields who are shaping today's artificial intelligence landscape. Kumar's inclusion on this list reflects not only his dedication and contributions to the advancement of AI technology, but also Cognizant's commitment to driving innovation and excellence throughout the industry.

Under Kumar's leadership, Cognizant committed $1 billion in 2023 to accelerate enterprise AI. Through its global Synapse skilling initiative, the company is on track to provide skilling and training opportunities in AI and advanced technologies to 1MM people.

To further this commitment, Kumar recently organized the world's largest vibe coding event for Cognizant employees to promote AI literacy at all levels. The event set a Guinness World Record™ for the most participants in an online generative AI hackathon. More than 30,000 prototype projects were created by over 53,000 employees from 40 countries who participated in harnessing AI to meet the growing opportunities that the AI economy will provide.

Kumar has pioneered an organizational structure that supports agile, purpose-driven collaboration rather than rigid hierarchies to fuel ongoing AI innovation at Cognizant. A prime example of this approach is Cognizant's Bluebolt program, which Kumar launched in 2023 to help unlock fresh thinking about AI use cases from across the organization. To date, Bluebolt has enabled its employees to share over 500,000 ideas.

Kumar will broaden his vision for AI through his roles on the Board of the US Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the AI Working Committee, the Board of the US India Strategic Partnership Forum, the Board of Transunion, the Board of Governors of the New York Academy of Sciences, the Chair of the World Economic Forum's Information Technology and Communications Forum, and the Chair of the Nasscom US CEO Forum.
