AI is Accelerating the Exposure of Poor Talent Says CRED’s Kunal Shah

By Global Leaders Insights Team | Mar 20, 2025

CRED founder and CEO, Kunal Shah, recently shared an interesting observation about AI on X, noting that it has played a significant role in "exposing bad talent more quickly."

"AI is causing an interesting second order impact. It’s exposing bad talent faster," Shah wrote. "Earlier bad talent could hide behind long cycles of iteration but as feedback loops are getting faster with AI, there’s no place to hide for them. Exciting times."

Additionally, discussing the rapid progress of AI and its effect on software development, Shah mentioned in another post that while AI tools are lowering the time and cost of building software, efficiency alone doesn’t guarantee success.

"AI cutting down software development time and cost is like cheaper and faster construction of a building. You still need the right location and architecture. Speed alone won’t guarantee success," the CRED founder wrote.

Shah has consistently discussed the transformative potential of AI. Last week, he pointed out a major shift in Bengaluru's startup ecosystem toward adopting AI and stressed the importance for startups to embrace it. In a post on X, he mentioned that while many startups in Bengaluru are using AI to enhance productivity, only around 20 percent have fully integrated it into their operations.

“Banglore startups are increasing using AI to be hper-productive. But it seems only 20 percent are breathing AI. Rest are waiting for a sign,” he wrote.

Shah has also expressed about the changes that happened to his personal life after using AI. In a recent session, he mentioned that AI ushered in a completely new era of innovation and AI tools like ChatGPT have made him “10x more in sharing such ideas with the team”.
