Unibic Foods Appoints Ajay Bathija as Chief Executive Officer

Ajay Bathija was named Chief Executive Officer by Unibic Foods, a major biscuit and snack company, today.

According to an official statement, Ajay will spearhead Unibic's strategic growth initiatives in his new position, propel business expansion in both domestic and foreign markets, and fortify the company's position in India's cutthroat packaged foods sector.

Prior to joining Unibic, Bathija spent more than 18 years in "several senior leadership roles" at The Coca-Cola Company, where she oversaw marketing operations and strategies for the markets in India and Southwest Asia. Additionally, he held the position of Managing Director at Coca-Cola in Bangladesh.

Sandeep Reddy, the chairman of the Unibic Board, praised the new CEO's "experience in brand building, consumer marketing, and franchise leadership."

Reddy went on to say, "We are sure that Ajay's leadership will guide the business towards outstanding metrics and innovation while growing our presence in both Indian and international markets."

Bathija praised the leadership position and pointed out that the recent GST reforms have improved the climate, making now "an opportune time to accelerate Unibic’s growth momentum."

By increasing Unibic's product line, the new CEO hopes to increase the company's market share.
